Alicia Dobson - Blank Lunch w/ Yanika
I can’t say this is valid for all parts of the world, but I can get behind this:
People born between 1985 and 1995 very often look younger than people who are 10, sometimes even 20 years younger than them!
Why!?
Are their genetics stronger? Were things better back then?
Turns out no… Its not about “back then…” It’s about what is speeding up aging in these “modern” times.
(Emily – Age 14)
The ‘85 – ‘95 generation for starters, grew up without a screen in their face 24/7.
And less of all this constant background anxiety means ’85 – ’95 generation has less wear and tear on their bodies!
Speaking of bodies, that’s another key factor… the relationship they had with their bodies…
That generation did not enter adulthood with:
Food was simpler, sleep was deeper, and movement was more natural. And it turns out… your body lasts a bit better when you’re not always breaking and optimizing it!!!
And lastly, mental health! Were there problems back then? Absolutely! But there wasn’t this CONSTANT public scrutiny!!!
Mistakes were dealt with privately and quietly!!! No one liked, commented or compared you with something else, the way they do on the internet! No one reacted with 😂 when you shared your problems online… (Side note: stop sharing EVERYTHING online)
In the modern age, people are aging faster and it has nothing to do with time… it’s the constant feeling of “I’m not good enough,” “Look at how nice they live compared to me,” etc. etc.
Of course time catches up with us all, but it won’t do you any favours living a rushed, stressed lifestyle!!!
It’s become a bit of a throwaway phrase lately, but “Go touch grass!”
