• N$314.9 million worth of diamonds were involved in the robbery of January 8, 2025, at its premises in Windhoek.
• N$40.6 million worth of diamonds have so far been recovered. Namdia does not say where and when.

Our calculations

• N$274.3 million worth of diamonds are still missing. Namdia does not say whether there was a fourth suspect who could have sneaked out with the missing diamonds. They said three people were involved. Two are in custody, and one is dead.

The police say:

• 51.725.93 carats were involved in the robbery
•   4.511.50 carats were recovered. The police, too, do not say where and when.

Our calculations

• 47.214 carats are still missing.

In grams: 5 carats are equal to one gram

• 51.725.93 carats give us 10.345 grams (total involved)
•   4.511.50 carats give us 0.902 grams (recovered)
• 47.214 carats give us 9.44 grams (missing)

Questions

1. Was there a fourth person involved? If so, who could it be?
2. How can 9.44 grams (47.214 carats) go missing if the first respondents (Xiphos Security Company) happened on the scene within minutes of the distress call?
3. So far, the only diamonds recovered were from Namdia’s security officer’s home. If, as Namdia say, he was rescued when found tied up like a victim, at what point, and time did he sneak out with the diamonds?
4. We understand that although some of Namdia’s CCTV cameras were sprayed to obscure them from capturing the robbery, others were not tampered with. How is it possible that until now, the police have not arrested more suspects using the visuals from the untampered CCTVs?
5. PDM leader Mchenry Venaani argued Wednesday with Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila in the National Assembly. On Thursday, Namdia released the monetary value of the diamonds involved, as well as those recovered. Was it a coincidence, or was Namdia coerced into revealing the numbers?
6. What happened to the press conferences Namdia, and the police promised they would hold?
