I don’t mean Friends lover as in someone who loves their friends. I mean people who love the tv show FRIENDS.
It was, in my opinion at the very least, one of the best (if not the best) TV show to ever grace our presence and if you agree with me, then I have some good news!
Turns out that people who watch Friends are smart. I’m not even kidding.
A survey was done by DIRECTV that explored the relationship between TV shows and intelligence and how watching particular programs, such as Friends may boost your exam skills or alternatively how intelligence affects which shows you watch.
Here’s what they found: people who watched Friends and other shows such as Planet Earth, Sherlock, and Top Gear all appear to do better in exams, whereas the people who watched things such as Dexter, The Wire and Breaking Bad all attained lower scores than average.
Now they don’t really say whether these specific shows make you smarter, or whether these shows simply attract people who are already smarter but either way, do with that information what you want.
Here’s what I’m going to do with it though – I’m going to create my own little IQ Test where every time I meet someone new, I’m going to say PIVOT. If they start laughing, I know they’re smart because it’s simply one of the best (and funniest) FRIENDS references and people who watch friends are smart apparently. However, if they don’t laugh…well…I will then know that with this person, ‘the light is on, but nobody’s home’. If you catch my drift.
JUST KIDDING!
(but if you laughed at the Pivot reference then you’re awesome and we can be friends)
