Oh boy…

We had a “What to watch” situation at home the other day, so we went through ALL the streaming services and eventually had a “Ag whatever” moment and put on…

Megan 2.0

We all remember Megan right? The AI robot child that becomes self aware or whatever? I honestly can’t remember, that movie was pretty bad to say the least!

But it got a sequel… so, plot time:

  • Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage, its creator, Gemma, has become an advocate for government oversight of AI. Unbeknownst to her, a defense contractor has created a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate infiltration spy. However, as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, it becomes less interested in taking orders. Hoping to stop Amelia, Gemma decides to resurrect M3GAN, making it faster, stronger, and more lethal.

Right… I honestly don’t know where to start… the plot I suppose… The plot is about as predictable as reciting the ABC’s. And yet, as predictable as it was, it is EQUALLY worth forgetting and opening up space in your brain for knowledge that is actually WORTH retaining! Like a better movie!!!

The actors:

  • Violet McGraw reprises her role as Cady, the kid from the first film, and Allison Williams is back as her Aunt Gemma.

  • Jenna Davis also reprises her role as the voice of Megan.

Now for the acting:

  • You know it’s bad when the robotic AI inspired characters have more depth than the human actors

I mean… I wish I had more to say, something good you know… but the fact that I sat through 2 hours of Megan 2.0 my goodness, was not great!

Here’s a massive problem (SPOILER ALERT), the film sets itself up for another one… please no!

Our verdict on Megan 2.0:

K*K!
