United Africa Group on Windhoek in Windhoek launched United PayPoint, a licensed Payment Service Provider authorised by the Bank of Namibia to issue e-money as well as offer payment intermediary services.
Set to launch early 2026, the company also holds a Micro Lending License from Namfisa which the Group said affirms PayPoint’s compliance, credibility, and commitment to building a trusted financial ecosystem.
United PayPoint is a Financial Technology company that aims to bridge the gap between the banked and unbanked.
Its mission is to make transactions simple, secure, and accessible thereby pushing Namibia closer to full financial inclusion.
Founder of United Africa Group and United PayPoint, Haddis Tilahun, outlined the services that the company will offer.
United PayPoint will roll out a comprehensive suite of products and services to individuals, businesses, and communities.
The include a PayPoint Wallet, accessible via mobile app or USSD that enables instant transactions, cash-in/cash-out services through agent networks, and seamless personal financial management.
The company emphasised that it is not replacing traditional banks, but rather enhancing and expanding financial access, specially for people without smartphones or formal banking relationships.
