The Ministry of Health and Social Services says that while only one person has been diagnosed with Cholera in the Kunene region, it is regarded as an outbreak.
Executive director of the ministry of health, Ben Nangombe, told NewsOnOne Thursday that if a positive case of cholera is confirmed through a laboratory, and that particular patient does not have travel history or was not in contact with a person who may have travelled, the case would constitute an outbreak.
This comes after one case of Cholera was confirmed on the 10 March 2025 in Kunene region. The affected person was a 55-year-old woman who went to Opuwo district on the 2 March with severe diarrhea.
