The Federation of African Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists have condemned the growing repression of journalists in Namibia. In an online publication for yesterday, the two institutions have highlighted the case of senior journalist Jemima Beukes. According to the report, Beukes, who’s a key figure in media advocacy, has faced workplace harassment, gender discrimination, and professional retaliation from the Network Media Hub following her critical reporting on the local “Green Hydrogen” project. Journalists and media organizations have denounced these actions as an attack on press freedom, calling for urgent intervention to protect journalists’ rights.
