Oshana starts distributing relief food to flood victims

The Oshana Regional Council commenced distributing relief food to communities affected by floods in Ompundja,  Uuvudhiya, and Okatyali.
The Namibia Defence Force’s helicopter is helping transport the drought relief to areas cut off by the floods.
Oshana governor Elia Irimari, who joined the team in dispatching the food, says they will first ensure that all the needed food as per the government drought relief programs is distributed to the allocated points.
Irimari says the essential food and other items that farmers and community members bring to the constituency offices are also distributed to the people who need them.
“Then we are going to do an assessment,” he says.
