Oshana Region police have recorded a 24% decrease in crime cases during the festive season, with 1 291 cases compared to 1 716 last year.

Commissioner, Naftal Sakaria, said this was despite the influx of both humans and vehicles; they managed to keep the situation under control.

“We are considering drone technology in future, and will also be pushing our second project, the taxi marking system in the region,” Sakaria said on Thursday in Oshakati.

He was launching Operation Ndjadila which he said is a way of honoring and celebrating the great work done by Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, who led investigations that led to the solving of many complex cases in the region.

Ndjadila was recently appointed to serve in the Khomas Region.
