NUST Surpasses N$1 Billion in Research Funding and Expands STEM Enrolment by 52%

The Namibia University of Science and Technology’s (NUST’s) research funding has surpassed more than N$1 billion over the last five years, coupled with the graduation of more than 4000 postgraduate students, including honours, masters and PhD students.

The institution’s revenue has surpassed N$1 billion consecutively over the past two years.

Speaking during the institution’s official opening of 2025 academic year, NUST Vice-chancellor Erold Naomab said NUST has fully embodied the entry of an international science and technology university and continues contributing to national development through remarkable leadership and stewardship over the national science and technology innovation landscape.

Over the last five years, NUST substantially increased the offering of Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) programmes, resulting in a remarkable 52% increase in STEM enrolment.
