I have had a lifelong love for radio. It has been a privilege for me to have spent almost two decades of my life in a career that has been fulfilling and rewarding. Friday, 29th March 2024, will mark my final show on Radiowave. This week will be a period of reflection as I prepare to hang up my headphones and step away from the mic.

In 2007 when I auditioned for a radio gig at what would be Namibia’s leading Urban youth radio station Fresh FM, I didn’t know it would be the start of an incrediable  adventure. Because this is what my career in radio has been, an Avdenture.  Azeal Matsoarelle and I hosted the Cheeze and Lime show, a time and a show that I can only describe as outlandish. There were many great memories spent there working with some amazing people who continue to do amazing work in broadcasting media and communication space I also had the privilege of hosting the breakfast show on 99FM solo, an experience from which I learned a great deal.

From the moment I realised I had a career in radio, my goal was always to be a part of Radiowave. When the opportunity finally came, it was a dream come true. I can honestly say that I have had the time of my life and feel incredibly fortunate. The memories I take with me are countless from our time at 28 Simpson Street and moving on to Future Media.

As I look towards the next chapter in my life, I am excited about the new adventures and possibilities that lie ahead. I will always cherish my time in radio and the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today.

I want to express my gratitude to you for welcoming me into your homes, cars, and lives over the years. It has been an honor to be a part of your day, and I hope that I have been able to bring some joy and entertainment into your world.

With a heart filled with gratitude, I sincerely thank you for tuning in.

As a dad who’s spent countless late nights trading lullabies for loot, I’ve started to notice something kind of beautiful. A surprising number of video games get fatherhood. I’m not just talking about the "gruff guy with a gun" stereotype. I mean games that dig into what it really means to raise, […]
