Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) has rolled out a rural network optimisation project aimed at addressing coverage gaps and improving service quality in northern Namibia. The initiative follows an extensive 2,000-kilometre audit across Outapi, Oshakati, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo, targeting areas where connectivity has traditionally been weak.
The project will focus on upgrading infrastructure and optimising network performance to ensure that residents and businesses in underserved regions experience more reliable mobile and internet services.
“MTC remains committed to bridging the digital divide and enhancing communication for all Namibians. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to ensure quality service beyond urban centres,” said MTC spokesperson Erasmus Nekundi.
The company has indicated that improvements are expected to be implemented progressively, with residents in targeted areas seeing tangible benefits in the coming months.
