The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade (MIT), through the National Ozone Unit (NOU) and with the support of the Cooling Programme for Southern Africa (CooPSA), has donated equipment valued at N$1,650,710.33 to four Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) on Monday.

Sikongo Haihambo, MIT’s Executive Director, told News on One the contribution aims to enhance technical training in the safe handling of refrigerants, with a particular focus on the recovery of R22 and R410A refrigerants.

He added that by equipping these institutions, CooPSA and MIT seeks to strengthen the skill set of technicians in Namibia’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector, fostering environmental sustainability and professional development.

After receiving the equipment, Polli Andima, the center manager of VTCs stated it is their duty as trainers and trainees to put the donation to good use.
