I discovered a new thing to add on to the “Why I Don’t Like Shopping” list the other day!

We all know the usuals:

  • Tant Sannie and her 23 kids standing at the entrance of the aisle to catch up with Oom Pietie and his 34 grandkids.
  • People who decide to abandon their trolley WHILE they are paying to go get that 1 onion they need.
  • Queue cutters.
  • Trolley pullers as opposed to pushing the thing as was intended.

Welcome to the list – KIDS TROLLEYS!

Lidl introduces 'fun size' trolleys for family-friendly shopping trips

Generally, stores where the burden of grocery shopping needs to happen, are quite large. Trolley’s are already an issue because for some reason, people can’t grasp the concept of how it works… Think traffic jams, but with trolleys… Trolley jams!!!

Now, add in those little kids trolleys… “Oh but it’s so cute!” FOR WHO!?

Your toddler can barely walk, now they MUST push this trolley around in a shop full of people who are statistically already not in the best mood!

NO ONE looks at your kid and says:

  • “Aaaw, that’s so cute…”
  • “Aaaw, I LOVE that they’re blocking the aisle and you’re doing absolutely nothing about it…”
  • “Aaaw, I love how they’ve decided they’re gatvol of pushing the trolley and now they’re throwing a tantrum on one end of the aisle, and you’re on the other end shouting at them, and threatening them that they better come to you NOW!”

That’s so cute! It’s not…

And didn’t you learn last time you had to, for the remainder of the shopping experience, hunch over and throw out your back having to push the trolley around because your kid wasn’t in the mood anymore?

Just don’t do it! Put them in that seat part of the trolley and save us all the burden of getting stuck behind this:
