The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism has condemned the online sharing of graphic photos showing a recently euthanised elephant, calling the images “irresponsible and distressing.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, Minister Indileni Daniel urged the public to exercise restraint and respect in how they share wildlife-related content online, particularly when it involves human-wildlife conflict incidents.
Daniel said the elephant had been put down following a thorough assessment by wildlife officers after it posed a serious threat to nearby communities.
