Eight denied bail in Mr Price stolen clothes case

Eight accused were denied bail on Monday in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in connection with suspected clothes stolen from Mr Price, valued at N$161 000. The case was postponed to 8 August for legal representation and further police investigation.
Police arrested the firsts of eight suspects, Saara Shoombe on Thursday while selling the clothes at Okuryangava Stop ‘n Shop open market in Windhoek. The other seven suspects, all male, were arrested over the weekend.
The seven men, Fanuel Maarsdorp, Justus Yjiveze, Mathias Nekongo Shikomba, Thomas Lucas, Silas Nghitewapo, Erastus Uuwanga, and Paulus Tutaleni Gabriel appeared before prosecutor Rowan G. van Wyk.
Lucas and Uuwanga said they will apply for legal aid, while the remaining accused said they will conduct their own defence.
