The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has concluded a high-level workshop in Windhoek to evaluate the country’s current telecommunications infrastructure sharing framework.

The workshop brought together regulators, service providers, and key stakeholders to discuss a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) report commissioned by CRAN in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The aim is to promote fair access to network infrastructure, reduce duplication of resources, and enhance connectivity across the country.

According to CRAN Executive for Communication and Consumer Relations, Mufaro Nesongano, the RIA will help determine whether new or revised regulations are necessary to ensure a more efficient telecoms environment. The final report is expected to be completed by August 2025.
