The year 2023 comes with many comebacks, new groups and celebrations in the K-Pop industry. But, it is especially a big year because we are celebrating a decade of BTS in the music industry.
Starting out as 7 boys, between the ages of 15 and 20, they lived in a small one room dorm setup with three bunk beds and hardly enough space for their things. At the time, BigHit Entertainment was among the smaller entertainment companies in South Korea. Going from that to their worldwide fame was no easy feat, but it has been done.
Since their debut on June 13th 2013, BTS have collected quick the accomplisments. So much so that at the HYBE Museum in Seoul, South Korea, they have a Trophy/Award wall, displaying all the awards they’ve won so far. Some of the biggest ones being Artist of The Year at the AMAs, Top Group at the Billboard Music Awards, 6 Daesangs at the Golden Disc Awards, Top Social Artists, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year at multiple award shows.
They’ve racked up multiple endorsements, sponsorships and ambassadorships. As BTS, they have endorsed Samsung, Hyundai, Puma,, Fila, Formula E and many more brands.
As individuals, Jungkook is an ambassador for Calvin Klein, Namjoon is an ambassador for Bottega Veneta and the South Korean Ministry of National Defense Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification, Jimin is an ambassador for both Dior and Tiffany & Co., J-Hope for Louis Vuitton, Suga for the NBA and Maison Valentino and V for SimInvest.
However, in bigger celebration this year, a timeline of releases, events and updates has been posted on all BTS social media platforms. It all started on May 31st, ending well past their debut anniversary until June 17th. Among the scheduled item, the last song that include all 7 members will be released on June 9th titled Take Two. In the meantime, there have been more practice room videos of much request songs, as well as news that Seoul’s major landmarks will be colored purple (the group and their fans colour) – it’s set to include various events, activities, and attractions.
With more surprises to come, not having much insight into what the monopoly board themed schedule has in store for us, other than more content from all the members as a last group hurrah before they all leave to complete their military service, here is a sneak peak into what to expect for the upcoming schedule by looking at all the last 9 BTS Festa Anniversaries:
