New Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carell and John Krasinski movie

As a New Year is upon us, quite a few of us are looking forward to wasting some time watching films at the cinema, partly for the storylines or animation, but mostly for the popcorn.

After being bombarded by Christmas re-runs, i am looking forward to another year of brand new releases that can get stuck on.

Whatever the reason might be, there’s a lot of anticipation around the release of a particular new Paramount movie for more reason than one.

The feature- ‘IF’- hits the box office on 17th May, a week before originally scheduled, in an effort to avoid competition from the Spongebob Squarepants Sequel, which were originally set to hit cinemas in the same week.

Imaginary Friends, much to fans delight, sees beloved co-stars Steve Carell and John Krasinski reunite on screen in this Fantasy Comedy release – a decade after the actors first appeared alongside one another in the series The Office US.

Steve spoke to Entertainment Tonight of his enjoyment of working with John again, saying: ‘Well, I haven’t started working on the film with him yet, but I can’t wait I’m anticipating just joy and fun.

And if the pairing of two of the more recognizable characters in cringe doesn’t do it for you, maybe funnyman Ryan Reynolds also being a part of the cast will, as he stars as the hero in the story.

The film’s story description reads, “the tale of a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Ryan’s character to save the world from those that become evil.”

The star studded cast has fans in a buzz on twitter, with one excited X user saying: ‘I can’t wait to see trio Steve Carrell, John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds together in interviews for the #imaginaryfriends press junket.’
