A teacher who had been on the run for two weeks after allegedly raping his 13-year-old niece surrendered himself to the Ndiyona police station on Sunday morning in the Kavango East Region.

Ndiyona station commander, Albin Joseph, confirmed this to NewsOnOne.

Alexandra Shampampi Ndango, a teacher at Ncwa Junior Primary School, had been wanted by the police following allegations that he raped his niece at Makena village on 29 May 2026.

According to the family spokesperson, Lindo Cervatius, the teenager had gone to assist her uncle with babysitting his child while the child’s mother was away.
