What do you call someone who lies on the couch all day long doing nothing?
A couch potato!
Here’s a term I only heard of recently!
Think couch potato but instead, its someone who sits on their computer all day long!
The MOUSE Potato!

Isn’t that just a perfect name!? Got a friend or family member that just bums in front of the computer all day! There, now you have a name you can call them! Or rather a name you can use infront of the kids…
It sounds like a modern phrase but was actually coined in the dark ages, a time long forgotten… the 90’s! When personal computers became as common as the TV in your lounge, and people started using the internet for entertainment instead of JUST work!

Early tech commentators and workplace researchers used it to describe a growing lifestyle pattern where people remained sedentary for long stretches, clicking a mouse instead of changing TV channels.
By the early 2000s, the phrase had entered pop culture, often used humorously but with an underlying concern about physical inactivity.
And yet, here I am hearing it for the first time!
That said, it is way more fitting in this day and age than ever before!
