We See If It’s K*k So You Don’t Have To – Reviews by Jacques and G!
ZEST RESTAURANT!
We headed out and about and decided to sacrifice our arteries (and waistlines) for the greater good of Namibia! You’re welcome… Thank us later!!!
Our mission: To see if this place we’ve heard about is K*k… so you don’t have to!!!
Welcome to:

Walking into out Zest like 2 lost souls, you could easily tell this restaurant is basically what happens when Greece comes to Namibia for vacation, and decides never to leave! It’s all sunshine, leka dinge, and “Pass the lemon, darling!”
You can literally taste the vibe — fresh, fancy, and slightly smug in the best way possible!
First things first… we had to get the headphone rust outta our ears so we went with our morning brew of choice, naturally coffee!! Coffee so good it could fix your life decisions!
As always Jacques: Americano, Black, No milk, no sugar, no fun! G: Americano, cold milk, 3 sugars, stirred to the left to confuse the sugar granules.
Now, the brew at Zest isn’t just coffee — it’s therapy in a cup! One sip and we suddenly remembered all our childhood dreams and a time before bills: Smooth, bold, and rich — just like the person we’re trying to be one day.
Mediterranean Soul, Namibian Heart!

We kicked off our order with Jacques ordering the Green Omelette, and G (you can’t beat a classic) ordering what he loves most: Bacon, Eggs, Toast! And weren’t we pleasantly surprised, when our waitress told us the breakfasts come with “freshly baked bread!” Laat dink jou aan jou ouma se kombuis!
Our orders came! G – Eggs done to perfection, bacon crisped like a gossip session, and bread that could start diplomatic relations! Jacques – he went rogue with his order with something we thought was straight outta Dr Suess, but according to Jacques it slapped harder than a lawsuit on a Monday morning!
It wasn’t over from the kitchen! The Chef surprised us with Avocado Fries! Yup, Avacado Fries! And listen — if love had a crunch, it would sound exactly like that. They’re , crispy, and somehow healthier than my relationship with our gym.

But they didn’t come alone… Zest-infused flapjacks, and oh boy… those fluffy miracles had a hint of citrus so perfect it made Jacques and G tear up. Not emotionally, mind you!! We kept it on the inside and just allowed ourselves to take it ALL IN!

Everything at Zest tastes intentional, like they sat down and said, “How do we make people rethink their entire breakfast routine?” Mission accomplished!
The Vibe: Come for the Food, Stay for the Feeling!
ZEST isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a mood. You sit there long enough, and you start thinking you might just be a movie character like us just sipping coffee in slow motion while people chat in the background.

You hear laughter, clinking glasses, and that one guy trying to impress his date with words like “infused” and “locally sourced.” It’s relaxed, warm, and charming — kinda like Windhoek with a Mediterranean accent.
But its behind the scenes where the magic starts!!!
Helmed by Heinrich Stasiuk, a Karasburg kid turned global hospitality rockstar!

ZEST is proof that you can take the chef out of Namibia, but you can’t take Namibia out of the chef. He’s brought along some serious culinary muscle — Chef Jay Bogsinske from California and Chef Regan Wilson from Cape Town — to make sure everything that hits your plate is top-tier!
And honestly? It shows. Every dish screams crafted, not copied!
The Verdict:
Zest… You team, your vibe, and of course your food are all INCREDIBLE!!!
Jacques: “Not k*k. Not even close. In fact, dangerously addictive.”
G: “Cant speak mouth, still full!! But let’s just say — 10/10 would flapjack again.”
So, Namibia (even if you’re not in Windhoek, because its worth the trip) if you’re looking for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with soul, flavor, and enough coffee to reboot your personality, ZEST is the spot!

Come for the food! Stay for the feeling!
And if you see us there again… which you will, mind your business… We’re “researching…” Now who has the company credit card?
BTW when you go this month (Oct ’25) mention that you heard about Zest on Radiowave for 10% discount!
