Ultimate Braai Competition with Round Table Windhoek 34 Lunch w/ Yanika

The City of Windhoek has reached an agreement with residents living at Havana Four Way to relocate them to newly established townships as part of ongoing road expansion and community development projects.
The engagement, held Wednesday and led by Windhoek Mayor, Ndeshihafela Laranja, alongside city councillors and other municipal officials, focused on relocating households from the corner of Matsitshi Street and Eneas Peter Nanyemba Drive.
The area is earmarked for the expansion of the road into a dual carriageway, as well as the development of a community market and taxi rank.
While some households had relocated in previous years, others have raised concerns about access roads, bridges to improve mobility during the rainy season, and public transport access.
The city assured residents that communal water points and toilets are already in place, bulk electrical infrastructure is under construction, and bridge construction will begin before the end of 2025.
Further upgrades will follow under the Informal Settlement Upgrading Project.
Residents agreed to relocate their household structures between 01–31 October 2025, with the city providing transport assistance.
Those who fail to move within this period will be relocated by the city at their own transport cost.
All relocated residents will receive lease agreements for their new plots in Havana Extensions 8 and 11, paving the way for improved living conditions.
Mayor Larandja emphasised that while development may cause temporary disruption, the long-term benefits will significantly improve living standards for the community.
