SCAN QR CODE FOR TOILET PAPER

I often joke here on the Breakfast Lab, how my caveman genes are stronger than the rest…  

That the world out there is too much for me! AI, QR code menu’s… It’s not for me. 

And this just backs up my want and need for a simpler life, and I think you might want to join me after hearing this!  

China’s newest “smart” public toilets are not being met with the enthusiasm I am sure the creators were hoping for after videos showed dispensers that only release toilet paper if users watch an ad or pay a small fee.  

A viral clip doing the rounds, shows a woman scanning a QR code, forced to view an advertisement before receiving a single strip of paper. And yeah… that strip is NOT going far!

If you don’t want to watch the video, you can pay for the TP! The system charges 0.5 yuan (about N$1.22) per strip and you’ll see in the video, that strip is not much! People gonna be clearing out their bank accounts after a night of heavy drinking and spicy food!

I don’t hate WHY the system was introduced (to curb waste after reports of people taking excessive free toilet paper) but surely there has to be a better way of doing things?
