What's Inside My Future with Nammilk Lunch w/ Yanika
If you’ve danced at a festival, hit play on a gym playlist, or tuned in to a weekend banger — chances are David Guetta had something to do with it. With a career spanning over two decades, he’s not just a DJ; he’s a global phenomenon, a master collaborator, and the guy behind some of the biggest dance hits ever.
Born Pierre David Guetta in Paris in 1967, music wasn’t just a phase — it was in his DNA. He started DJing in local clubs at the age of 17, spinning funk and house music long before it was mainstream. By the early 2000s, Guetta was already making waves in the French dance scene, but it was his 2009 album “One Love” — featuring hits like When Love Takes Over (with Kelly Rowland) and Sexy Bitch (with Akon) — that launched him onto the global stage.
Guetta has a superpower: turning any collaboration into a chart-topper. From Sia and Rihanna to Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber, he’s worked with the biggest names in pop and electronic music — always blending his signature energy with the unique voice of each artist. He helped shape the EDM boom of the 2010s and shows zero signs of slowing down.
So, what’s David Guetta up to in 2025? The same thing he’s always been doing — dropping bangers. His latest track, “Together” with Hypaton and the legendary Bonnie Tyler, is pure high-voltage nostalgia-meets-now.
The track samples Bonnie’s 1983 mega hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, which originally went to Number 1 around the world. But this isn’t just a remix — Bonnie re-recorded the vocals especially for this release, and the result is a powerful, high-energy dance anthem that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
Fans of the French DJ will know this isn’t his first time flipping iconic tracks into dancefloor gold.
Back in 2022, he topped the UK charts with “I’m Good (Blue)” featuring Bebe Rexha, a reimagining of Eiffel 65’s 1999 hit Blue (Da Ba Dee). He followed that up with another big one — “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” with Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, which sampled Haddaway’s What Is Love. And who could forget “Play Hard” from 2013, which featured Ne-Yo and Akon, and borrowed from Alice DeeJay’s trance classic Better Off Alone?
We’re loving “Together”, and you can hear it featured on The Hype Hotlist Countdown — Namibia’s official countdown of the 40 hottest hits getting all the hype. Tune in every Friday at 6pm, with a rerun on Saturdays at 4pm on Radiowave.
