What's Inside My Future with Nammilk Lunch w/ Yanika
MS Namibia has announced the return of its Jeans for Hope Day campaign on Friday, 1 August, aimed at raising awareness and funds for Namibians living with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and can lead to symptoms such as numbness, vision problems, fatigue, loss of coordination, and cognitive challenges.
Founder Bianca Ozcan explained that MS is considered a rare disease in sub-Saharan Africa, and its low prevalence often leads to delayed diagnosis and limited access to specialized care. “Each patient experiences symptoms differently, which is why we call it the disease with a thousand faces,” she said.
Now in its fifth year, Jeans for Hope Day invites participants to wear denim styled creatively—whether with ribbons, prints, or accessories—to show solidarity with MS patients. Supporters are encouraged to take photos, tag MS Namibia on Facebook, and tag three friends to spread the message. Prizes will be awarded for the best and most creative outfits.
“This initiative is more than a fashion statement,” Ozcan said. “It’s a symbol of hope stitched into every seam.”
The funds raised will go toward patient support, access to treatment, and public education about MS. Those wishing to get involved can WhatsApp MS Namibia at 0811 423 543 or send an email for details.
