Namibia achieved a 73.2% score in the International Telecommunication Union‘s 2025 ICT Development Index (IDI), surpassing regional counterparts and even beating out larger economies such as Kenya and Nigeria. The score reflects improvements in access, infrastructure, and affordability across the country.

Executive for Communication and Consumer Relations at the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), Mufaro Nesongano, attributed the achievement to comprehensive digital policy reforms and the government’s rural-focused 4G rollout, which has significantly boosted access in remote communities.
