Well, my name is Chops and I love being in my 30’s. My dream is to transform attitudes and thinking through my passions. My background is not like a lot of other Namibians – yes, my parents were hardworking, they tried to give me the best education and opportunities but I have always believed in doing things myself and my own way!
I completed my tertiary education at a boys’ school in South Africa and after meeting a few exchange students with bad manners I knew that travelling the world was for me. I was so inspired by their stories that I immediately wanted to write my own. I learnt how to be tough, decisive and self-confident through a combination of my upbringing and circumstances in foreign countries.
I enjoy understanding how things work and I easily spend hours watching documentaries on what some may deem “ridiculously boring stuff”. I have spent my time in the past years as a freelance cocktail bartender and consider this my hobby. When I can, I love exploring the outdoors and my hope is to one day overcome my fear of steep inclines and snakes. My dream however, is to continue travelling and exploring the world, where I can learn about new cultures and languages while having some ‘ol skul’ fun in the process.
I love the idea of working in media and learning to tell bloody great stories with only the words in my mind. For me working in radio not only represents having a great job that is challenging and has variety but also a chance to learn every day and create your own opportunities as a personality and host.
Lastly, my life mantra is what guides me through every day. That is - Live Well, Play Hard and Get Freakin Angry!
