Is anyone one in football really worth US$265 million?

Neymar could be changing the playing field. What do you think? This amount is crazy to pay for a footballer, or am I wrong. Football fans are probably going what are you talking about chops this is Neymar we are talking about. I agree he’s amazing. Ok. Does that make him worth that much money? It's almost double the last record that was set. And that was just last year!! So what's really happening here? Football to you and I is a sport. In the real world, everything is business and football is no different. Just as we saw Mayweather and McGregor make a mockery of boxing (a fight that should never have happened BTW), football is a business!! It’s the business of winning. The business of glory the business of perfection, which is why all these sponsors want to be with the best. David Beckham, for example, played for clubs in the UK, Spain, US, Italy and France over the course of his career. Professional players sign contracts with clubs for a fixed term of up to five years. If a player transfers before their contract expires, the new club pays compensation to the old one. This is known as a transfer fee.

So does Neymar get that money? No! PSG paid US$265 Million it to FC Barcelona to secure his services. Neymar's camp will share US$45m, the payment for facilitating the move. PSG will then pay Neymar's wages – around $54m a year before tax – and hope to make a profit off his name and image. So at the end of the day, the only one with a real grin on his face, is Neymar!
