International Army Games 2016

Most of the world is watching the Olympics. But maybe you’re not into it all that much.  Maybe the International Army Games in Russia is more to your taste.

No, it’s got nothing to do with soldiers showing off their athletic prowess.  It’s armies getting together in Russia and fighting fake battles against each other to test whose military is the strongest in various warfare scenrios.

Over 3000 service members from 20 countries got together to take part in events like Tank Biathlons, Sniper shooting, gunsmith master, maintenance battalion, military dogs, military medical relay race.

Lots of explosions, mud, grime, sweat, blood, and bullets.  The photos are spectacular.

And the most surprising of all is that Namibia was an observer country at this year’s games, which probably means they went there to learn while watching.
