Taylor Swift Got Apple to Change Its Payment Policy

In something of an astonishingly late newsbreak, Apple announced that it was reversing its course and would pay artists for streams accrued during the free three-month trial period. Eddy Cue broke the news on Twitter, and credited Taylor Swift’s tumblr post with changing the company’s decision.

Cue told Re/code that he and Apple C.E.O. Tim Cook decided to make the change on Sunday. “It’s something we worked on together,” he told Peter Kafka. Ultimately we both wanted to make the change.”

Chris Evans to be new Top Gear presenter

TV and radio personality Chris Evans will replace Jeremy Clarkson as the lead presenter of an all-new Top Gear line-up, the BBC has announced.

Evans said he was "thrilled" to get the job, describing the motoring show as his "favourite programme of all time".

"I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward," he added.

Clarkson was dropped in March after punching a producer while on location.

Janet Jackson Announces 'Unbreakable' World Tour

Six-time Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum selling artist Janet Jackson will kick off a 32-city tour on Aug. 31 in Vancouver, Live Nation announced Monday.

Jackson's new album — her first in seven years — will be released this fall. Her last studio album was 2008's "Discipline." Jackson's catalog of hits dates back to the mid-1980s, ranging from "What Have You Done for Me Lately" to "That's the Way Love Goes" to "All for You."

The first U.S. tour date is on Sept. 11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The "Rhythm Nation" singer also announced shows in Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Miami.

With 36 shows in the U.S. and Canada, tickets for the Unbreakable World Tour go on sale on June 22.
