The U.S. Marine Corps yesterday said that a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing due to an inflight fire in its Japanese base camp in Okinawa. 
No injuries were reported. According the Xinhua News Agency, the aircraft belongs to the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. The accident took place when the plane was conducting regular training, at a field outside the Northern Training Area. The Marine Corps said it was working with local police and military troops to secure the site for later investigation.
