Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba has lashed out at Namibians who want to bring divisions and factions in the country, saying this can lead to fighting and destruction of the socio-economic development.
The Namibia press agency reports that he cautioned that there are countries in Africa who gained independence many years before Namibia and who are still not enjoying peace today because people are fighting each other. Pohamba called on Swapo Party leaders not to allow divisions and factions in the Party saying: “I see the elements of divisions when I read the newspapers. Let’s fight against divisions”. The Former President also expressed disappointment in remarks by some people who claim that no development has taken place in the country, since it gained independence 27 years ago.
