26 February - 22 March: Julia Hango Exhibition @ the FNCC

Julia Hango’s exhibition : Manifestations of the Self - A new chapter opens at FNCC on Monday 26 January

The self-taught artist Julia Hango presents to you the ever-changing intuitive mind in creation with her art, the process and the forms this manifestation has taken over the last four years. The exhibition will take place at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre from the 26 February to the 22 March 2018 in the FNCC Gallery. Julia Hango has exposed her work already in three solo exhibitions and several collective exhibitions.

Julia thinks of all the artworks she creates as souls, individual spirits born within the moment of creation and synchronicity, each being pregnant with their own potential, giving birth to new, improved versions of themselves. Healing the viewer, celebrating the human experience, and creating future worlds in an aesthetic, original and vibrating work.

Upon investigation into the nature of the mind one discovers that there is in actuality no independent entity that can be identified as the mind. Mind is only the word that denotes the ever changing flow of thoughts moving through one's awareness. Trying to catch the mind is like trying to catch the wind. The exhibition will not try to catch a pipe dream but only suggest an invitation to capture a few visions of it.

No longer seeking to impose the artist’s self-centered will upon her creations, let the journey within continue.

Deeply inspired by the own life of the artist and her personal experiences, this work hauls in photography, collage and mix media. Julia Hango is behind a shape-shifting work. A lot of visual and mental associations characterize the artist’s creations. As in the works of the Surrealists Dali and Magritte, several images are put closer within only one.
