05 & 06 September: Ooms

Venue and Time: Warehouse Theatre at 8pm

Tickets: N$190 in advance at Events Today or Airtime City Kiosks, N$220 at the door

"Ooms”, featuring Tobie Cronje and Gerben Kamper, was awarded the most popular production at South Afrika’s Innibos in 2016 and sold out at several festivals such as the Vrystaatvees, Aartklop as well as the 2017 Woordfees and KKNK.

An incredibly funny and witty Afrikaans 2-man play that is set in a luxury retirement home in Cape Town called Huis Phoenix. This is not any retirement home however, it’s more of a reformatory for rich retired men who have become a bit of a nuisance. House Pheonix comes complete with an ocean view, security fences and security guards with their not so friendly guard dogs. The only way to get out is in a coffin. Cronje’s character, Pierre, also known as the blacksheep, has been there for quite some time, and has several failed escape attempts under his belt. When Kamper’s character, Frans, who Kamper describes as an “ou hippie oom” arrives at House Phoenix the two bump heads. However, the two Ooms quickly realize their heads are far better used for plotting and planning their great escape and they start scheming right away.

Tickets for both nights, 5 & 6 September are available on EventsToday at http://www.today.com.na/ooms for N$190 (advance) or at any Airtime City Kiosk and the Warehouse Theatre.

Doors open at 7:30pm both nights and tickets at the door can be bought from 7pm onwards for N$220.

The Warehouse Theatre would like thank HRG Rennies Travel Namibia, Safari Court Hotel and Conference Centre and EndGame Namibia for their very generous sponsorship towards this show.
